Our Projects
Our passion and belief in the empowerment of our youth through scholarships, investment in, and development of educational infrastructures got us involved in two dynamic educational projects in 2014 and 2022.
Primary School
Construction.
From 2021 to 2022, Oma Iwere NYNJ embarked upon and completed two blooks of classrooms, a teacher’s office, and a restroom at Inorin/Ajigba Primary School. For $24,660.00, the erstwhile abandoned Inorin/Ajigba primary school, is now serving the primary education needs of riverine communities at Inorin, Ajigba, Usele, and Ugbodede in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The primary school was commissioned in July 2022, by His Imperial Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR the Olu of Warri. This event was the highlight of His Majesty’s familiarization tour to these communities.
Rebuilding &
Equipping Library.
In 2014, Oma Iwere NYNJ resuscitated the library at Ojomba Primary School, Koko, Delta State, Nigeria by rebuilding/renovating, furnishing, and equipping the library with all necessary resources such as furniture and books, and making it easily accessible for the students and their teachers at the cost of $5,000.00 (Five Thousand Dollars).
Philanthropy
In addition, Oma Iwere NYNJ is involved in philanthropic activities within its domicile communities of New York and New Jersey. We financially support, and contribute to other cultural, charitable organizations’ social, developmental, communal programs.
In 2022, Oma Iwere NYNJ responded to the New York City Mayor’s call to support and aid the survivors of the January 2022 Apartment Building fire incident in Bronx, NY. Through the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, members of Oma Iwere NYNJ made voluntary donation of $750.00 to the families of victims of the fire incident.
Oma Iwere Itsekiri Development Fund Corp
To better manage its charitable causes and make donations to its programs tax deductible, Oma Iwere NYNJ recently set up a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit affiliate corporation known as Oma Iwere Itsekiri Development Fund Corp. Through this affiliate non-profit corporation, Oma Iwere NYNJ will organize fundraisings to execute its charitable undertakings.
